Organ Concert by Dr Indra Hughes (Auckland)

The Auckland Town Hall Organ Trust is proud to support the 2011 Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra Splendour Series: Inspired by Bach with a free 30-minute organ recital before the orchestra concert. 

INDRA HUGHES came from England to New Zealand in 1995 to take up the position of Organist and Director of Music at Auckland’s Holy Trinity Cathedral.  Since 1998 he has worked as a freelance organist, conductor, adjudicator, examiner and broadcaster. He received his early training at the Cathedral in Blackburn, Lancashire, and at Oriel College, Oxford, where he was Organ Scholar. In 2007 he was awarded the degree of Doctor of Musical Arts.  Indra accompanied the combined choirs at the Inauguration Concert on 21 March 2010.  This performance is included on the Inaugural Concert CD.  To order your copy, click here.
